TRAINING

Any one of our emergency responders will tell you that their professional education never ends.  Whether 16 or 60, our responders continually sharpen their skills through new certifications, continuing education, professional development and leadership and management training.  Our best become instructors themselves, teaching new generations not only the knowledge and skills necessary to serve, but the history and heritage of the volunteer fire and emergency medical services.

Some of the training that is available to our members includes:

First aid, CPR, Stop the Bleed
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Advanced EMT
Paramedic
Emergency vehicle operations
Basic and advanced firefighting
Vehicle extrication
Hazardous materials response
Wildfire operations
Incident Command and Incident Management
Leadership and Management

These are just a few areas of training.  There are literally hundreds of classes available, many involving paid travel to other areas in Virginia and throughout the United States.
