BENEFITS

All emergency services providers receive Worker Compensation, accident and line of duty insurance while actively serving their communities.

Grayson County ensures that funding is available for all training for our emergency responders.  Whether pursuing an advance emergency medical certification or learning the crucial skills necessary to operate safety in a burning structure, we are committed to making sure our responders do not have to fund their own education and training.

Several of our emergency medical service agencies provide an opportunity to work at a competitive hourly wage to staff ambulances throughout the week.

Many of our personnel have leveraged the training and experience they gained from volunteer service into paid careers in emergency services throughout Southwest Virginia and beyond.

When discussing with our members, though, they agree that the greatest benefit for all of our responders is the satisfaction they receive from taking an active and productive role in supporting their neighbors during their times of greatest need.  Our providers aren’t members of our communities.  They ARE our communities; neighbors helping neighbors, being there when they are most needed.
